Erin Akrobetu (formerly Pennebaker) is a native of Jackson, MS where she received her BFA in Modern Dance from Belhaven University in 2011. Prior to graduation she spent the summer training with Alivin Ailey in NYC and in 2012 she began dancing with Inlet Dance Theatre. Through her 8 year career with Inlet, she was able to perform nationally, choreograph on the Inlet Trainee and Apprentice Program, teach Erick Hawkins technique, Non-Traditional Partnering, Improvisation, Ballet, and was the first in the company’s history to hold the title of Teaching Artist. While in Cleveland, Erin has had the privilege of teaching and choreographing for Cleveland Dance Project, Savelli’s Dance and Martial Arts, Cleveland City Dance, Absolute Dance Company, and held master classes at Belhaven University. In 2019 she became the resident choreographer and movement instructor for the Academy for the Performing Arts.
